It was a beautiful drive through the cherry orchards and vineyards of the Old Mission Peninsula and at the end of M-37 sits the Mission Point Lighthouse.

I struggled with my camera settings as a haze settled over the airport and the sun played hide-and-seek with the clouds.  It was a tough day of shooting at the "Thunder Over Michigan" airshow at the Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

The Mackinac Bridge is an impressive 26,372' suspension bridge connecting the State of Michigan's lower peninsula to the upper peninsula.  It's been over a decade since I've visited the "Big Mac" and I'm still awestruck at the beauty of this magnificent structure.

May 15, 2015:  One of my favorite lighthouses is the Grand Haven Pierhead Inner Light.  I planned on taking a sunset photo and was disappointed when I saw the dense fog surrounding the area (visibility was at least ten feet).  Sometimes plans go awry and we need to make the best of what we have.

My daughter's performances take me to the most amazing venues.  Hill Auditorium is a magnificent building that proudly stands in the heart of the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus.

Our daughter was part of the DSO Civic Youth Ensemble as well as the AVANTI Summer MusicFest (sponsored by the DSO).  If it wasn't for her extra-curricular activities, I would not be able to practice and improve my indoor, no flash, photography skills.

Chaperoning five 5th Graders helped to exponentially improve my "fraction of a second" photography skills.  It was no easy task taking photographs with hundreds (it seemed like thousands) of other guests to the village.

Our daughter was one of the Honor Guards at this year's Commencement Exercises.  It was another opportunity to work with my camera settings (with no flash).

Our daughter made it into the 53rd Michigan Youth Arts Festival's Honors Orchestra Band.  It was another opportunity to work on my indoor photography skills.
